Denver tends to have two peak seasons: winter, when it's a stop en route to ski resorts, and summer, when the long days and cool evenings make it a great escape from hotter and steamier parts of the United States. Denver International Airport is a major hub and an architectural focal point. It handles about 58 million passengers a year, and that number is likely to rise with the recently announced expansion of Frontier Airlines, which operates a hub from the airport.
